Improving Quality of Life

The Dskate Story
WHO WE ARE
The Dskate Hockey Program was founded by Steven Hindle. Steven manages and runs all day-to-day operations for Dskate and is responsible for the coordination, execution and success of each Program.
To help young athletes living with diabetes achieve a greater quality-of-life and discover their limitless potential to succeed through an integrated “hockey + diabetes” sports-education Program.
CUTTING EDGE HOCKEY
What We Do
Bringing together elite-level professionals on and off the ice for the benefit of T1D hockey players and their families, the Dskate team is a unique, dynamic staff with incredible experience, leadership and charisma.
Featuring an on-ice hockey staff that specializes in skating and skill development, off-ice staffs which include Certified Diabetes Educators, peer mentors, nutrition and exercise specialists, each group works together utilizing diabetes management techniques in order to bring out the very best in each and every player.
The result is a Program that delivers an impactful balance of diabetes education, hockey skill development, and fun; leaving all who experience Dskate with a smile on their face.
NOT A TRADITIONAL CAMP
Dskate tackles hockey and diabetes education differently. We’re not a traditional “camp.”
Through a combination of multiple separate Staffs, Dskate’s formula delivers a new resource for hockey players and families alike to build better lives.
Catering to hockey players living with diabetes, boys and girls between the ages of 8-21, Dskate offers the opportunity for players to experience a unique and elite hockey skill-development Program, rivaling the best hockey education Programs available in North America.
Providing an on-ice playground of work-stations, obstacle courses and dynamic teachers with International and Professional experience, hockey players live their fantasy of playing the game they love with the support they deserve.
Tried, Tested & True
Established in 2012 with our inaugural program launched in July of 2013 in Milton, Ontario, Dskate has strived to set the bar for how we should treat individuals and families living with Type 1 Diabetes.
In a decade of service to our #T1DHockey family, we have had over 2,500 T1D players pass through our program and now count over 6,500 people among our Dskate family members.
And we can't wait to welcome you.
